Reserving a Private Space in a Public Denver Park for Your Next Event
Denver has no shortage of parks and outdoor venues to host your next event, picnic, and party. Natures backdrop and wide-open spaces, mountain views, and gorgeous nature-scapes can elevate any occasion and open up a ton of opportunities to add fun and activities. You will have to be sure to reserve your spot in a public park and get the right permits for all activities.
Choosing your park
There are two types of parks in Denver, urban and mountain parks. Mountain parks have a shorter season for hosting events than urban parks, mainly due to weather. Although reservations for some parks can be made as late as 24 hours before your event, we recommend that you plan further ahead to ensure you get your first choice.
- Mountain parks can be reserved from May 1st to September 30th.
- Urban parks can be reserved from April 1st to October 31st.
Type of event
The type of event you are hosting will help you find the perfect park spot. Each site will have set boundaries that you will have to respect. Make sure you reserve a space that will fit your event and the number of guests that are attending.
For Mountain park events with more than 100 guests, you will most likely be required to have insurance. Some sites also offer specific amenities like toilets, shelter, tables, grills, and electricity. If you choose a location that already has the facilities you need, the less you’ll have to rent and have delivered to the site. For instance, if you want to rent a bounce house, you need to make sure you have electricity and enough space to set it up.
Deliveries to outdoor events
Be sure to check with your park permit officer about permissions to set up extra pop-up tents and activities like an inflatable bounce house. In most cases, as long as you stay within the boundaries of your park site, you can decorate and set up as you please. However, this is one of those times when you should ask for permission first, not forgiveness later. If you don’t have permission, you could be looking at a severe fine.
Once your permits and reservations are in place, call WeeJump:) to rent your bounce house and have it delivered to your favorite Denver park.
